Contest Beat

Here’s another iPhone contest… this time from Buzz Patrol. They have a number of ways you can enter - even for those of you without your own website. You can comment up to 10 times to get 10 entries, and also add their blog to your Technorati favorites to get another. I’ve done those already ;), so this one is going to be a Buzz Patrol review, it must be 250 words and give them a couple of links. I’m already part way there, so let’s continue…

Buzz Patrol deals in whole lot of different things, including celebrity gossip and news, movie trailers, TV news, and more. It was apparently just sold to its new owner last month, and it seems like he is engaging in a pretty full on marketing campaign to get their readership up - not that just under 1,000 feedburner readers is anything to laugh at!

The actual blog itself is well designed and looks to be updated several times per day, another good thing is that you aren’t just staring at a wall of text - they make the effort to includes pictures along with their posts as well, which can be a real time killer. However the overall effect is that it’s much more pleasing to the eye.

Judging by their latest news stories there isn’t too much currently going on in the celebrity news world though, interesting stories seem a little scant. However there is still a decent amount of comments. Overall Buzz Patrol is taking on what is now a pretty competitive niche and I wish them all the best!
