Behold the Power of the $100 Contest
Today I have $100 to give away to a lucky Contest Beat reader as part of the cash contest that just finished, but before I announce the winner, here’s a few quick comments.
The first contest held here (asking people what they would like for a contest prize), attracted 27 entries. The cash contest held this time beat the previous record with 50 entries - we broke a half century! I guess that this goes to show that cash really is the ultimate prize, notwithstanding the fact that this blog has grown more popular since then. 
Has the posting about other blog contests niche exploded or what? By rough count, about 14 entries (just over one quarter) came from such blogs, just like this one. It’s all good, just means everyone has to work a little harder!
To make the drawing I went down all the comments in the contest post and painstakingly checked out each entry to make sure it met the requirements. I think there were maybe two that didn’t - either I couldn’t find the blog post or the blogroll link, but overall it was pretty good. I then assigned each blog a number, and then assigned those people who entered using a second method to enter a second number. After that I hit up Random.org and let it do its thing, with the winner being number 41 - Media Mafia.
Congratulations! Send me a message via the contact form on the site with your Paypal email. To all the other entrants, my condolences. There are never any losers with a Contest Beat contest though, because as you know all entrants get a link back, just like you can see below!
