Pagerank and $100 Cash
With all the stuff about Pagerank going around the last week or so I have been very interested in seeing what would happen to ContestBeat.com, if anything. After all, the site is still quite new and I wasn’t even sure if we would have been around long enough to get Pagerank at all. We have been though and are now a certified PR3 - pretty sweet! How did all you guys fare with your blogs and sites?
What does Pagerank mean apart from bragging rights though (not that a PR3 gives me any of those)? Well, pretty much nothing. Google uses it as a sort of external method for showing the Trustrank of sites, but it’s not really worth much. Internally they actually use a much different, top secret method to measure Trustrank and then rank you in their search engine for terms. Or at least that’s my understanding/view of it.
I also wanted to sneak in a quick reminder about our $100 Cash Contest, which finishes tomorrow on the 31st - meaning you need to enter now if you want to have a chance at winning the money. I’m glad that I went from N/A to 2! And that is right, PR does not mean anything at all. Traffic is what that matters.

Since we are only three weeks old, the PR update bypassed us. No change at all. Still an impressive PR0.
My blog has been live for 2 months but it’s still a PR N/A, hmmmm……whatever that means?
It feels like being left out of the biggest and most anticipated party of the year!
3 weeks I can understand, but being 2 months old you might have hoped to scrap in and pick some up!
congrats on pr3. i am little bit confused, some pr sites show my rank as 3 and some 2, i can’t understand the logic. My blog got ranked 3 just after 3 months of inception. Any ways best of luck to all contestants.
