What’s the best way to create some buzz and get people visiting your website? Firstly, run a contest. Secondly, make it a Contest Beat featured contest! Next2Friends, a new social networking site that looks set to combine the current big three (YouTube, FaceBook, and MySpace) into one, are two for two so far on that count. So let’s see how their contest stacks up.

Prizes first. Up for grabs are a brand new Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop, as well as a 8GB iPod Touch. The trick is though, they are giving away one of the laptops every quarter and one of the iPods every month! The next chance you have to win the aforementioned iPod is on 15 November, and the next laptop drawing will take place on December 15, right before Christmas (oh, wouldn’t that be nice).

So the prizes kick ass, what do you have to do to win them? Easy - just pre-register for Next2Friends. All you need to do is provide your name, email, country and a few other bits and pieces and that’s it - you’re in with a chance to win some awesome prizes. Plus, if you refer your friends to the site (and you’ll probably wanna do that, since it’s a social networking site), you’ll get an extra chance to win for each one that joins up.

So that’s all there is to it. I’m in the running for the coming drawings myself and there’s no reason you shouldn’t be either.
